Jennie McAlpine is expecting a child

The Coronation Street actress and husband Chris Farr have announced they are expecting their third child.

 “It just feels really nice. We’re so over the moon,” Jennie McAlpine told OK! magazine.

“The thought of adding to our family mix and chaos was the best Christmas present! I’m really excited for 2023 – it’ll be a special one.”  

She described how she learned of her pregnancy while camping with her husband Chris Farr and their kids Albert, 8, and Hilda, 4.

The former I’m A Celebrity campmate decided to take a pregnancy test since she was feeling queasy. She soon discovered she had been pregnant for roughly five weeks.

In contrast to her prior two pregnancies, Jennie explained that the pair is looking for a surprise when it comes to learning the gender of the child.

It seems like our way to handle it, she said. “Girl, boy – it’s not relevant! I’ve got two little humans who are very different from each other but I’m not sure they’re different because they’re a girl and a boy.”

Her daughter’s name Hilda was derived from the late Jean Alexander’s portrayal of Hilda Ogden in the television series Corrie.

And this time, the television personality has admitted: “I can probably guarantee that whatever the name we choose, it will have been a character in Corrie – I don’t know how to avoid it!”

Jennie revealed the inventive manner producers were able to conceal her expanding baby belly on the ITV soap during her most recent pregnancy.

“We started with a mug, moved on to a handbag, and last week, I’m not joking, with a Ford Fiesta.”

She chuckled as she recalled how producers would request that a car be relocated farther down the street just to hide her bump.
