Poland Reports Russian Cruise Missile Violation of Airspace Amidst Attacks on Ukraine

The Polish foreign ministry, voicing its stance through a spokesman, made a strong call to Russia.

In a serious escalation of tensions, Poland reported that Russia had breached its airspace with a cruise missile aimed at Ukraine, specifically targeting the western part of the country.

This incident occurred early on Sunday and has sparked considerable concern.

The Polish armed forces revealed that Russia had launched a comprehensive assault with 57 missiles and drones against Ukraine, including strategic locations such as Kyiv and Lviv, which is proximate to Poland’s border.

The armed forces detailed the incident, stating, “On March 24 at 4:23 a.m. (0323 GMT), there was a violation of Polish airspace by one of the cruise missiles launched overnight by long-range aviation of the Russian Federation,” on the social media platform X.

They further explained, “The object entered Polish space near the town of Oserdow (Lublin Voivodeship) and stayed there for 39 seconds.

“During the entire flight, it was observed by military radar systems.”

In response to this infringement, the Polish government is taking diplomatic steps by planning to summon the Russian ambassador.

Deputy Foreign Minister Andrzej Szejna, in a conversation with Polsat News, confirmed this course of action.

The Polish foreign ministry, voicing its stance through a spokesman, made a strong call to Russia.

They demanded an immediate cessation of what they termed “terrorist air attacks on the inhabitants and territory of Ukraine,” urging Russia to conclude the ongoing war and to focus on solving its internal issues.

This incident marks a significant moment of tension, reflecting the broader implications and regional stability concerns stemming from the conflict in Ukraine.
