UK Bed And Furniture Retailer Slzzp Collapses Into Administration Closing All Three Stores

Slzzp, a UK furniture company specialising in beds and mattresses, has fallen into administration, resulting in the closure of all its retail locations.

The company appointed administrators Paul Matthew Kings and Lynn Marshall on January 20, marking the formal beginning of insolvency proceedings for the Business.

Slzzp had operated three stores across the North East of England, with branches in Newcastle, Sunderland, and Westerhope serving customers since 2019.

The retailer had built a reputation for offering customers “a wide range of products to suit all budgets” alongside specialist sleeping advice from knowledgeable staff.

One satisfied customer previously wrote on Google: “Fantastic service at Newcastle Slzzp. Very knowledgeable, able to show me the types of beds that meet my requirements and options available.”

The same customer added: “The double bed looks great, good night’s sleep on, large storage underneath at a good price. Delivered as promised and set up quickly, my son is very impressed. Will definitely come back for another bed.”

Another reviewer praised the retailer, saying: “Highly recommend this company. Really professional and great service. I find shopping for a new bed really overwhelming and confusing with all the different options out there but they really know what they are talking about and their advice was spot on.”

That reviewer continued: “Delivery was quick and efficient, and I am so pleased with my new bed. Wouldn’t go anywhere else in future!”

At the time administration was announced, the stores remained open and trading seven days a week, with discounts of up to 50 per cent applied across products in-store and online.

The company’s website has since gone offline, displaying an error message stating users do not have permission to access the resource, alongside a 403 Forbidden error notice.

All physical stores have now closed, including the branch on New Bridge Street in Newcastle, which shut its doors earlier this month following the administration process.

Slzzp had previously stocked several well-known brands including Silent Night, Harrison Spinks, Mammoth, and Julian Bowen, giving customers a broad selection of recognised names in the sleep industry.

The Express has approached the administrators for comment, with no response received at the time of publication.
