£50 million Arsenal target rejects Chelsea offer

Chelsea receives Amadou Onana's final response on a January transfer deal from Arsenal.

Amadou Onana, a target for Arsenal, won’t be joining Chelsea before the deadline because he would rather stay at Everton.

According to numerous reports, Onana appears to have rejected a transfer to Stamford Bridge.

Onana’s entourage has reportedly been contacted by Chelsea with an offer to move to West London, according to Belgian football reporter Sacha Tavolieri.

Onana wants to remain and concentrate on Everton, at least through the end of the current campaign, it is said.

Those assertions are supported by Foot Mercato, which contends that Onana did actually turn down a trade to Chelsea before the deadline.

Onana may still be of interest to Chelsea, but making another attempt in the near future would seem to be a waste of time.

Everton only acquired Onana over the summer after paying Lille £33 million for the formidable midfielder.

Although the 21-year-old Belgian has fluctuated in the Premier League, teams can see tremendous potential in him.

With Mikel Arteta and Edu eager to recruit a new midfielder,  Tavolieri revealed earlier this week that Arsenal are also interested in Onana.

At the base of Arsenal’s midfield, Onana might be seen as Thomas Partey’s rival, and 90Min said that Everton would sell for about £50 million.
