Foundation 365, Litera’s artificial intelligence-driven client relationship management platform built for law firms, is now fully available across Microsoft 365.
The integration spans Microsoft Outlook, Teams, and Microsoft 365 Copilot, extending the platform’s reach into tools attorneys use daily.
Foundation 365 is built on Microsoft Dynamics 365 and was formerly known as Peppermint Client Engagement before Litera rebranded it following an acquisition.
Litera acquired Peppermint Technology, a UK developer of modular legal applications built on Microsoft technology, bringing the product into its portfolio last year.
The company positions Foundation 365 at the centre of what it calls “GrowthTech,” a category it describes as outpacing traditional business development tools by helping firms deepen client relationships rather than simply tracking them.
Grant Hewlett, vice president of product for firm intelligence at Litera, described the platform’s core value in practical terms for legal professionals working in fast-paced environments.
“Winning new business comes down to knowing where to focus and having the right information at the right time,” said Hewlett. “Foundation 365 brings client and relationship data directly into Microsoft 365 Copilot so attorneys and business development professionals have the most relevant, accurate information at their fingertips, whether they’re preparing for a meeting or on a live client call.”
The platform is designed to help firms identify which client relationships are strong, which need attention, and who inside the firm is best placed to engage a given contact.
Foundation 365 also extends Litera’s existing legal AI agent, Lito, which the company has already embedded in Outlook, Word, the web, and Apple iOS.
Litera reports that five of the Global Top 10 Law Firms and more than 4,000 firms worldwide currently use Foundation 365 across their operations.
The company has also been named a recipient of the 2025-2026 Microsoft AI Business Solutions Inner Circle Award, which Microsoft grants to fewer than 1% of its global partner network.
That recognition signals Litera’s standing as one of Microsoft’s most significant partners in the legal technology and AI solutions space globally.
