Eastern City BID has announced a partnership with homelessness charity Providence Row to stage The Mile Between Us Cup 2026, a five-a-side football tournament.
The event is scheduled for 17th July, bringing together businesses from across the area for an afternoon of football, competition, and fundraising.
Now in its third year, the tournament is set to be its largest edition yet, coinciding with the World Cup to give it an even broader platform.
Organisers have expanded the event considerably, with more teams, a bigger venue, and greater capacity to generate impact for people affected by homelessness in the local area.
A total of 20 teams will take part, welcoming participants of all ages, genders, and abilities, with each side made up of five players and two substitutes.
The competition will feature both Cup and Plate formats, with trophies and prizes on offer, ensuring teams at every level have something meaningful to play for.
Each participating team is asked to make a fundraising donation of £500, with all proceeds going directly to Providence Row and its work supporting homeless people.
Beyond the football, the event will also include networking opportunities and drinks following the matches, giving businesses a chance to connect in a relaxed setting.

Providence Row has long been a prominent force in tackling homelessness in East London, providing a range of vital services to some of the city’s most vulnerable residents.
