KFC (NYSE: YUM) Launches New Menus, Restaurant Designs And Bold Branding In Global Overhaul

KFC is embarking on its most significant global transformation in years, targeting what it calls the growing sameness across the quick-service chicken category.

The brand, a subsidiary of Yum! Brands, Inc. (NYSE: YUM), is rolling out new boneless menu items, a sweeping sauce lineup, a beverage platform and next-generation restaurant formats across multiple markets.

Scott Mezvinsky, CEO of KFC Global, framed the push as a defining moment for the brand in a competitive landscape. “In an increasingly crowded category, we have a clear opportunity to set the standard for modern chicken in QSR,” Mezvinsky said.

“This next chapter brings new energy and expression to what makes us iconic, while doubling down on our chicken and reimagining how fans experience KFC around the world,” he added.

Central to the new menu strategy is a concept called Dipped, featuring crispy tenders and boneless options paired with sauces drawn from a new global sauce pantry of more than 20 varieties. The lineup ranges from modern takes on classic recipes to internationally inspired flavours, with examples including Chimichurri Ranch and Hot Honey Habanero.

A second menu concept, called Dunked, features tenders, wings and sandwiches drenched in sauce for what KFC describes as an immersive, flavour-first eating experience. Already available in South Africa and India, Dunked reflects rising consumer demand for more indulgent and sauce-forward options.

KFC is also expanding its KWENCH beverage platform, which features Boba Refreshers, Krunch Shakes, Sparkling Lemonades and Iced Coffees already available in select UK and Ireland locations. The platform is moving from pilot to permanent menu status in Australia and Canada this year, targeting demand for feel-good indulgences outside traditional mealtimes.

In the UK and Ireland specifically, KFC will roll out new Tenders and nine new bold sauces in the coming weeks, alongside refreshed branding across communications and digital touchpoints. The global expansion is then expected to reach Australia and the United States, with further markets following throughout 2026.

The transformation extends well beyond the menu, with KFC set to open a new generation of restaurant spaces beginning this summer. The brand describes these next-generation sites as designed for hospitality rather than efficiency, with environments built to adapt throughout the day to meet different customer occasions.

The first of these new-format locations include an open-concept design in McKinney, Texas, expected to open in late summer, reinterpreting the brand’s heritage with modern energy. A fully immersive two-storey restaurant in Dubai, described as one of the boldest expressions of the next-generation design, is set to open in the autumn.

Alongside the physical spaces, KFC is refreshing its visual identity to feel more relevant and expressive while remaining grounded in its Colonel Sanders heritage and the iconic “Finger Lickin’ Good” ethos. The bucket, described as KFC’s most recognisable asset, has been refreshed with new energy, accompanied by a subtle evolution of the Colonel’s image across packaging, digital platforms, advertising and restaurant environments. KFC currently operates more than 34,000 restaurants across over 150 countries.
