Zeekr is bringing its largest and most powerful SUV to Europe, and the 9X Super Hybrid is not making a quiet entrance by any measure.
The Chinese luxury SUV packs a claimed 885bhp, weighs almost 2.9 tonnes, and stretches to roughly the same length as a long-wheelbase Range Rover.
It has been on sale in China since 2025, but European markets are next in line as Zeekr pushes its global expansion forward with considerable ambition.
There is still no official confirmation of UK sales, though Zeekr has repeatedly hinted that Britain remains part of its long-term plans for the brand.
For the European market, the 9X arrives with two electric motors, one on each axle, paired with a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine and a 55.1kWh battery.
Zeekr claims an electric-only range of up to 111 miles and a total combined range of 458 miles, making it a genuinely capable plug-in hybrid for longer journeys.
Thanks to a 900-volt electrical architecture, the battery can charge from 10 to 80 per cent in a claimed 9.5 minutes, assuming a sufficiently powerful charger is available.
Zeekr quotes 885bhp and 690lb ft of torque for the European-specification car, enough to propel this near-three-tonne SUV from 0-62mph in a claimed 4.1 seconds.
That performance figure is striking on its own, but Chinese buyers actually get the quicker tri-motor version, which cuts the 0-62mph sprint to just 3.1 seconds.
For all its outright performance credentials, the 9X is firmly positioned as a luxury SUV rather than some kind of oversized performance machine in disguise.
Adaptive air suspension is fitted as standard, and the six-seat cabin features heated, ventilated, reclining, and massaging seats throughout the interior.
Zeekr says the interior is designed to feel like a private lounge, complete with premium leather, wood trim, and active noise cancellation built into the vehicle.
A 47-inch augmented reality head-up display projects navigation and driving information across the windscreen, while twin OLED displays dominate the main dashboard area.
Rear passengers benefit from a 17-inch OLED entertainment screen that folds down from the roof, accompanied by a 32-speaker Naim sound system and a built-in fridge.
On the outside, a towering front grille, slim headlights, and upright proportions give the 9X considerable road presence without resorting to overly fussy styling details.
Until a right-hand-drive version is confirmed, the Range Rover, BMW X7, and Mercedes GLS face no immediate competitive threat from Zeekr on British roads.
The 9X Super Hybrid combines nearly 900bhp, a genuinely luxurious cabin, and more than 100 miles of electric range into one enormously ambitious package.
If Zeekr does eventually make its move into the UK market, the 9X Super Hybrid will certainly not arrive unnoticed.
