The Trump administration has announced nine new Most-Favored-Nation agreements with pharmaceutical manufacturers, significantly broadening the reach of the pricing programme.
The latest additions bring the total number of companies participating in the MFN programme to 26, marking a substantial expansion of the administration’s drug pricing strategy.
Officials say the 26 participating companies now collectively account for 89% of the branded drug market in the United States, giving the programme considerable industry coverage.
The MFN framework is designed to ensure the US does not pay more for prescription drugs than the lowest price available in comparable developed nations.
Separately, prescription savings platform GoodRx has launched a new Companion Family Plan aimed at broadening access to medication discounts across households.
The plan covers a primary member and up to four additional members, with no age restrictions applied to any of the individuals included under the scheme.
In a notable feature distinguishing it from typical family health plans, GoodRx’s Companion Family Plan also extends coverage to pets, reflecting the growing market for animal healthcare savings.
GoodRx has positioned the offering as a flexible, inclusive solution for families seeking to reduce out-of-pocket prescription costs across multiple generations and species.
In the cold chain logistics sector, CSafe has introduced the Silverskin RE PMC, a new reusable thermal cover designed for temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical shipments transported by air freight.
The product is constructed using six-layer compressible insulation and is built to provide thermal protection for payloads requiring temperatures between +2°C and +8°C, as well as +15°C to +25°C ranges.
At 1.5 metres in height, the Silverskin RE PMC is capable of accommodating up to eight Euro pallets or six US pallets, making it suitable for large-scale multi-pallet shipments.
CSafe has backed the product with a full refurbishment model, supporting the reusable nature of the cover and reinforcing the company’s focus on sustainability within pharmaceutical logistics.
A modular design allows for efficient application and removal of the cover at cold chain touchpoints, reducing handling time and complexity during transit operations.
The three developments reflect a busy period across the pharmaceutical industry, spanning pricing policy, consumer healthcare access, and specialised cold chain infrastructure.
