AI Hackathon Series in Europe: Lytvyn.AI.Foundation Awards Over €15,000 to Talented AI Developers

Several AI hackathons for developers from around the world are taking place this October. On 9–10 October, Barcelona hosted the AI Agentic Coding Hackathon. Teams of up to four people competed in three tracks: Game, Tool, and Habit, building simple games, tools that automate everyday routine tasks, or practical solutions for health, fitness, and sleep. Teams were free to choose any stack, AI model, and API, and had 13 hours over two days to build whatever their imagination allowed.

The jury included Lytvyn.AI.Foundation mentors and the organizing team. Team Barr.io received the €10,000 prize, presented personally by the foundation’s co-founder Volodymyr Lytvyn, coming out ahead of 15 teams and 70 participants.

As Volodymyr noted: “This was one of the most vibrant events. Our foundation’s team was delighted to see so many young, talented developers in one place. It doesn’t matter to us where developers come from or how much experience they had before the event. We judged each product’s originality and how ready it was for use by almost any audience. And many participants truly impressed us.”

The Barcelona AI hackathon launched a series of events Lytvyn.AI.Foundation plans to hold. Next up is Problem Day in London, organized together with Kickstart Global.

On 31 October, Problem Day will bring together participants whose tasks include investigating real-world problems and testing hypotheses, then presenting their findings backed by insights from AI agents. The winner will take home the £5,000 prize pool.

Lytvyn notes: “This is just the beginning of a large series of events that we at Lytvyn.AI.Foundation plan to organize for developers around the world. We plan to hold another hackathon in Paris in November, and in 2027 to expand to other cities and countries, giving participants from all over the world a chance to showcase their talent.”

This is far from the first time Volodymyr Lytvyn has organized events for young, talented minds. Beyond Lytvyn.AI.Foundation, the entrepreneur develops investment and technology initiatives and, through the Lytvyn Foundation, runs a range of intellectual events as well as IT and business schools for Ukrainian youth. Lytvyn believes young developers, especially in Ukraine today, need support and dedicated initiatives, and he plans to create as many projects and events as possible for this purpose.

About Lytvyn.AI.Foundation

Lytvyn.AI.Foundation is an international foundation established by Ukrainian IT entrepreneur and philanthropist Volodymyr Lytvyn. It finds talented AI engineers and tech founders across different countries and creates open platforms where they can prove their skills through real work. Teams with strong growth potential are considered for investment. The foundation’s mission is to give AI builders worldwide access to opportunities, capital, and long-term support, and its ambition is to become a launchpad for technology companies capable of reaching global scale.

The foundation is built on the belief that access to opportunities should not depend on connections, university background, country, or professional network. Many strong engineers build promising AI products yet never reach the people who could fund them. Lytvyn.AI.Foundation works with AI builders of any age and background, as well as pre-seed and seed-stage teams from any country, and judges them on the results of their work. Developers can get on the foundation’s radar by taking part in its hackathons, pitching at events where its representatives sit on the jury, or reaching out directly. The foundation is also open to partnerships with technology companies, AI providers, venues, and funds as it shapes the geography of its 2027 season.
