The Sun says that although Arsenal turned down a proposal from Reims for Folarin Balogun in the January transfer window, the club may decide to offload the striker in the summer.
This season, Balogun has emerged as a “great” revelation while abroad on loan.
He entered the season coming off of a forgettable loan stint at Middlesbrough the previous season.
The 21-year-old is Ligue 1’s top scorer with 14 goals in 21 matches, one more than Kylian Mbappe and former Arsenal teammate Alexandre Lacazette.
Naturally, Reims tried to keep Balogun there for as long as possible.
The Sun claims that Arsenal rejected Will Still’s team’s offer, though.
However, it’s possible that the Gunners won’t keep the forward indefinitely.
Given his strong reputation and the opposition he faces in the hierarchy, The Sun speculates that Arsenal may yet decide to sell.
It will be fascinating to watch how Mikel Arteta handles the situation with his strikers in the summer, claims the boot room.
Balogun has not yet established himself in the Premier League.
So maybe Arsenal thinks it makes sense to leave their options open in case they get a hefty offer for the youngster.
