Carragher Tips Arsenal to Break Winless Streak Against City, Hopes for Tighter Title Race

Mikel Arteta, Arsenal's manager, will be keen to outdo his former mentor, Pep Guardiola, when Manchester City visits Emirates Stadium this weekend.

Jamie Carragher, the renowned football pundit, has predicted an Arsenal win against Manchester City in their upcoming Premier League encounter.

This is in spite of Arsenal’s 12-match winless streak against the current champions, with their last win dating back to 2015.

Mikel Arteta, Arsenal’s manager, will be keen to outdo his former mentor, Pep Guardiola, when Manchester City visits Emirates Stadium this weekend.

Both teams have injury concerns. Arsenal might play without key players like Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, and Thomas Partey.

Manchester City, on the other hand, will be without the influential Rodri due to suspension and Kevin de Bruyne due to injury.

Carragher, speaking on Sky Sports, emphasized Rodri’s absence as a significant factor in his prediction. “I’m siding with Arsenal for this one.

The absence of Rodri, a pivotal figure for City, combined with Arsenal’s home advantage, makes me lean towards the Gunners,” Carragher opined.

Beyond his prediction, Carragher also expressed a desire for a more competitive title race.

Although he’s a Liverpool enthusiast, he voiced his hope for Arsenal to triumph, which could pave the way for a more exciting competition for the Premier League crown.

“A tighter title race, similar to last season’s thrilling contest between Manchester City and Arsenal, would be great for the league. I’d love to see Liverpool in the thick of it as well,” he added.
