Elon Musk has announced via a social media post that his long-anticipated cage fight with Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg will finally take place and will be live-streamed on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter.
The two tech moguls have been playfully challenging each other to a mixed martial arts showdown in Las Vegas since June.
Musk’s post on X early Sunday morning declared, “Zuck v Musk fight will be live-streamed on X. All proceeds will go to charity for veterans.” However, specific details about the event were not provided.
In a previous post on X, Musk had mentioned his preparation for the fight, stating that he was “lifting weights throughout the day” to get ready. He humorously mentioned that he brings the weights to work due to time constraints.
When questioned by a user on X about the purpose of the fight, Musk replied, “It’s a civilized form of war. Men love war,” further adding to the playful banter between the two CEOs.
Meta, formerly known as Facebook, has not responded to Musk’s recent announcement about the cage fight on X.
The friendly rivalry between Musk and Zuckerberg began on June 20 when Musk expressed his interest in a cage match with the 39-year-old Zuckerberg, who is trained in jiujitsu.
Responding to Musk’s challenge, Zuckerberg asked him to “send location” for the proposed fight, to which Musk suggested “Vegas Octagon,” referring to a venue famous for hosting mixed martial arts championship bouts.
Now that the fight is confirmed to be live-streamed on X, fans and followers of both tech giants are eagerly awaiting the event.
Moreover, Musk’s decision to donate the proceeds to charity for veterans adds a philanthropic dimension to the highly anticipated match.
As the date and further details of the cage fight are yet to be disclosed, enthusiasts can only wait and watch as the two CEOs continue their lighthearted rivalry and engage in their spirited preparations for the epic showdown in Las Vegas.
