Florence Pugh fires back at online trolls

Florence previously attacked trolls for their decision to "publicly damage a woman's body" after she appeared in Rome wearing a gorgeous pink sheer tulle gown.

In response to harsh trolls who criticised her for wearing a sheer Valentino gown without a bra, Florence Pugh questioned how her “nipples” could have “offended” anyone.

Although the 27-year-old actress is renowned for her stunning red carpet ensembles, she received brutal teasing after appearing in a translucent dress at the Valentino fashion show in Rome in July.

She responded at the time to comments made by “vulgar” guys and those who used their words to “publicly destroy a woman’s body.”

Florence once more denounced the criticism she got and asserted that the vicious harassment demonstrated that there is still “so much more work to be done.”

‘Of course, I don’t want to offend people, but I think my point is: How can my nipples offend you that much? It’s very important that we do this.

‘I know that some people might scoff at me saying that, but if a dress with my breasts peeking through is encouraging people to say, “Well, if you were to get raped, you would deserve it,” it just shows me that there’s so much more work to do.’

Florence said it was “worrying” how “vulgar some” men can be although noting that this “isn’t the first time and surely won’t be the final time a woman will hear what’s wrong with her body by a crowd of strangers.”

The actress also discussed her own struggles with body image, confessing that as a teenager, she “couldn’t bear to look” at herself.

The actress said she will continue to “be loud about being comfortable” and expressed her gratitude for having grown up in a home with strong, powerful, curvy women.
