Gary Neville drops huge claim about Ruben Neves amid Arsenal interest

Gary Neville has praised Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder and Arsenal target Ruben Neves on Sky Sports.

The Premier League leaders Arsenal have been recently linked Wolves highly-rated playmaker Ruben Neves.

Dean Jones stated to GiveMeSport in January that he believed the Gunners still had the Portuguese on their transfer list.

He said: “Players like Youri Tielemans or Ruben Neves are still players I’d consider to be on Arsenal’s list,”

“They’re players we should probably look out for in this window or at the end of the season.”

Neves has been one of the standout performers for Wolves since joining the club from Porto in 2017.

He has become a key player for the team and has been an integral part of their success over the past few seasons.

The 25-year-old has also been linked with other top Premier League clubs, including Manchester United and Liverpool.

The Portugal international now carries a vast Premier League experience having already made 241 appearances for Wolves.

Thus, the London club will be eager to have such players under their ranks. As Arsenal would look to revamp their midfield in the summers and Neves, who will run out of his contact in 2024, could turn out to be a very good option for the Gunners.

Neville on Ruben Neves

Neves continued to shine on Friday night as Wolves held Fulham to a 1-1 draw.

Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville also liked what he saw from the Wolves midfielder.

The former Man United defender said: “It’s interesting that you should say about Neves, he’s been at Wolves quite a long time.

“I genuinely believe that Ruben Neves could go and sit in any midfield in Europe in any team in any league and be comfortable.”

Meanwhile, the Gunners signed Jorginho in January, considering Thomas Partey’s fitness.

But Mikel Arteta could look to add more depth in his squad in the upcoming transfer window.

Thus, the Spaniard could make a move for Neves.

As the midfielder will be entering in the last year of his contact, Arsenal might be able to get him for a bargain price.
