Heathrow Border Force Staff to Strike During Peak Travel Period Over Working Conditions

This action is a response to changes in their working conditions imposed by Britain's interior ministry, which has altered their roster system.

Border Force staff at Heathrow, Britain’s busiest airport, are set to strike on May 31, June 1, and June 2. This strike coincides with a peak travel period during the country’s school holidays.

The Public and Commercial Services (PCS) union announced that staff in terminals 2, 3, 4, and 5 would also refuse to work overtime for three weeks starting from June 4.

This action is a response to changes in their working conditions imposed by Britain’s interior ministry, which has altered their roster system.

Approximately 300 Border Force staff previously held a four-day walkout at the end of April and early May.

Despite the upcoming strike, Heathrow has stated it has contingency plans to mitigate any potential disruptions to passenger journeys.
