Border Force staff at Heathrow, Britain’s busiest airport, are set to strike on May 31, June 1, and June 2. This strike coincides with a peak travel period during the country’s school holidays.
The Public and Commercial Services (PCS) union announced that staff in terminals 2, 3, 4, and 5 would also refuse to work overtime for three weeks starting from June 4.
This action is a response to changes in their working conditions imposed by Britain’s interior ministry, which has altered their roster system.
Approximately 300 Border Force staff previously held a four-day walkout at the end of April and early May.
Despite the upcoming strike, Heathrow has stated it has contingency plans to mitigate any potential disruptions to passenger journeys.
