According to the Italian publication CMW, Juventus is reportedly interested in signing Manchester City defender Sergio Gomez for £35 million this month as the Serie A giants try to replace Alex Sandro, who may decide not to sign a new contract with the Old Lady.
The Spaniard has only made 11 appearances for City and has not been used as a substitute in City’s previous eight Premier League games.
His performance at Anderlecht was outstanding.
In 50 games, he contributed to 22 goals from left back, so it’s obvious that City has acquired a big talent for a reasonable price.
Even if it may have been foreseen, Gomez is not playing.
Juventus, according to CMW, is prepared to try and profit from that.
Sandro’s contract has expired, thus Juventus is hoping to add a left-back either this month or in the summer.
Gomez is going to love playing for a team like Manchester City, h owever, the defender would have anticipated playing more than only 11 times, only six of which have been in the starting lineup, given the transfer of Oleksandr Zinchenko to Arsenal.
Therefore, one may anticipate that Gomez might be eager to go to Italy if Juve do come knocking, a major club competing for Serie A championships.
Gomez must accept the offer if they can assure him that he would be the preferred candidate if Sandro were to go.
Gomez will be wanted to remain at The Etihad by Manchester City.
He might eventually serve as one of their starting lineup options in the long run.
