Kamala Harris Raises Over $500 Million After Joe Biden Dropped Out

In a memo released by Harris' campaign manager, Jen O'Malley Dillon, it was revealed that the $540 million raised includes $82 million that came in during convention week.

Democrat Kamala Harris has raised $540 million in just over a month since launching her campaign for U.S. president. A significant surge in donations occurred during the Democratic National Convention last week, according to her campaign, which made the announcement on Sunday.

In a memo released by Harris’ campaign manager, Jen O’Malley Dillon, it was revealed that the $540 million raised includes $82 million that came in during convention week. Dillon described this fundraising total as a sign of strong Democratic enthusiasm for Harris’ candidacy.

“This is the most ever for any presidential campaign in this time span,” Dillon stated.

Vice President Harris officially entered the presidential race on July 21, following President Joe Biden’s decision to step aside. Biden faced pressure from fellow Democrats who were concerned about his cognitive ability, especially after he stumbled during a June 27 debate against Republican Donald Trump.

Harris’ campaign has gained momentum, putting Trump on the defensive and challenging his ability to dominate the media spotlight.

This week, Harris and her vice presidential running mate, Tim Walz, are taking their campaign on a bus tour through Georgia. The state is considered crucial in the upcoming November 5 election, and the campaign aims to build support there.
