Man appears before court over funeral drive-by shooting

Two more men have been detained and a 19-year-old has been charged in connection with a drive-by shooting outside a church in the heart of London.

Alrico Nelson Martin, a resident of Kilburn in north-west London, appeared before Willesden Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday. 

He was charged with six charges of conspiracy to intentionally cause bodily harm and possession of a shotgun with the purpose to endanger life.

Two men, aged 22 and 23, were detained on Tuesday on suspicion of plotting a murder, according to the Metropolitan Police.

On Saturday, January 14, shots were fired outside a funeral at St. Aloysius Church on Phoenix Road, Euston, killing four women and two girls, ages 11 and 7.

Requiem Mass was held as a memorial ceremony for Sara Sanchez, 20, and her mother Fresia Calderon, 50, who passed away in November.
