Man Utd Accused of ‘Breaking All Rules’ After Embarrassing Tottenham Defeat

The defeat leaves United languishing in 15th place in the league table, increasing the pressure on Amorim to turn things around quickly.

Manchester United endured yet another setback in the Premier League as they fell to a 1-0 defeat against Tottenham on Sunday. James Maddison’s goal sealed an important victory for Ange Postecoglou’s side, while Ruben Amorim’s men were left reeling.

Injury Crisis Worsens for Amorim

Already dealing with an injury crisis, United were without key players Amad Diallo and Kobbie Mainoo, both of whom are set for extended spells on the sidelines. Their absences only compounded United’s problems as they struggled to find any attacking rhythm.

The defeat leaves United languishing in 15th place in the league table, increasing the pressure on Amorim to turn things around quickly. With a lack of consistency and clear tactical issues, the Red Devils are facing one of their most difficult seasons in recent years.

Gary Neville Slams United’s Tactics

Speaking on Sky Sports, club legend Gary Neville was highly critical of United’s tactical setup, questioning the positioning of key midfielders Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes.

“We just said about the distance between the two central midfield players. Look at where Casemiro is and where Bruno Fernandes is. That cannot be right. It breaks all rules in football. Look at them – absolute madness, that,” Neville stated.

“They may score goals but the structure of the team is awful. The gaps in that midfield, that’s a tactical thing – they’ve been told to do that. Bruno Fernandes is playing right wing. It’s embarrassing.”

Urgent Changes Needed

Amorim has a tough task ahead. His side not only concedes too easily but also struggles to create chances, particularly with Fernandes played out of position. If he is to salvage the season, United must improve defensively and find a more balanced approach. Otherwise, their poor run of form could continue.
