According to FootMercato, Lille are preventing USA international Timothy Weah from leaving in January despite Everton and Fulham being interested in the former PSG youth player.
According to L’Equipe, Weah may be swayed by interest from clubs like Everton, Fulham, and the aggressive Brighton and Hove Albion, but Lille are said not to be encouraging offers.
FootMercato reports that Lille have ‘blocked’ overtures from teams like Sevilla and Borussia Monchengladbach because other widemen Adam Ounas and Jonathan Bamba are presently sidelined due to injuries.
Lille reportedly values Weah at about £13 million, according to FootMercato.
Weah, who is only 22 years old, has around 30 USA national team appearances under his belt.
Neymar, the speedster’s former PSG teammate, even asserted that he possessed “everything to become one of the finest attacking players in Europe.”
However, his development has recently been hampered by injuries and a lack of regular playing time.
Struggling Everton wants to bring in more forward players, but the dismissal of Frank Lampard may make certain late-season signings more difficult.
