Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Limited has unveiled a new educational campaign called Regrowth Restyled, aimed at supporting adults living with severe alopecia areata.
The campaign launched during Alopecia Areata Awareness Month and takes an unconventional fashion-led approach to raising awareness of the autoimmune condition.
Sun Pharma partnered with renowned fashion designer Christian Siriano to create a one-of-a-kind wearable garment inspired by the hair regrowth journey experienced by patients.
The collaboration brought together Siriano and patient advocates to explore themes of confidence, identity, and self-expression through clothing and personal style.
People living with alopecia areata often say the condition affects far more than their physical appearance, touching deeply on their sense of self and emotional wellbeing.
A panel featuring Siriano and three members of the patient community formed a central part of the campaign’s public-facing activities and outreach efforts.
Sun Pharma’s head of marketing, Stephanie Loiseau, discussed the strategy behind the Siriano partnership and explained why pharma brands should look beyond the usual roster of celebrity spokespeople.
John Bujnoski, Vice President, Head of Dermatology and Immunology, U.S. Innovative Medicines at Sun Pharma, said: “Through this campaign, we hope to inspire confidence, celebrate self-expression, and encourage patients to speak with their dermatologist about treatment options, including LEQSELVI, that may help them achieve their hair regrowth goals.”
LEQSELVI, known generically as deuruxolitinib, is an FDA-approved medicine for adults with severe alopecia areata that works by blocking certain signals thought to play a role in hair loss.
Clinical trial data showed that around 3% of patients were able to regain almost all their hair in as little as eight weeks after beginning treatment with LEQSELVI.
By the 24-week mark in clinical trials, approximately one-third of patients had regained almost all of their hair, demonstrating the treatment’s potential for significant regrowth outcomes.
The Regrowth Restyled campaign reflects a broader shift in pharmaceutical marketing toward more human-centred storytelling that connects treatment to lived patient experience.
