The Ritz Hotel

The Ritz London Hotel, established in 1906, is one of the most luxurious hotels in London and one of the world’s most renowned ones. The hotel’s elegant neoclassical structure, a hallmark of its over 118-year history, was designed by the legendary French architect Charles-Frédéric Mewès in collaboration with his English partner, Arthur Davis. The architecture exemplifies traditional French classicism and has been regarded as a masterpiece from its completion.

Beyond its captivating architecture, the Ritz hotel epitomizes opulence, comfort, and luxury. It’s so synonymous with elegance and luxury that the term “ritzy” has been incorporated into the English dictionary to describe something classy, elegant, stylish, or fashionable. The hotel boasts 111 luxurious rooms, 24 elegant suites, and three five-star restaurants, offering an unparalleled experience of sophistication and indulgence.

The hotel also includes an elegant casino in its famous Ritz Club, located in the basement of the building. The club offers a variety of casino games, private gaming salons, and a five-star bar, offering gambling enthusiasts a world-class experience that online casinos can’t replicate. The Goring Hotel

The Goring is another luxury hotel in the heart of London. It is located in London’s Belgravia district, just half a mile from Buckingham Palace. This explains why the hotel is known to have historically housed royal house members frequently. Notably, the Queen Mother was said to be a regular at the hotel.

In 2013, Queen Elizabeth II granted the hotel a royal warrant of appointment, an official recognition awarded to companies or individuals who have supplied goods or services to the Royal Family for at least five years. The Goring is the only hotel to have been granted this honor. The warrant signifies quality and excellence and allows companies to display the royal coat of arms on their products or services.

The historic hotel was opened by the Goring family in 1910, about 114 years ago, and it’s still run by the family today. It is one of the few, if not the only, hotels of its caliber worldwide still run by the family that built it. It currently houses 69 rooms, a restaurant, and a bar. The hotel’s restaurant dining holds one Michelin Star, which indicates quality cooking of international standard.

Claridge’s Hotel

Established in 1812 as Mivart’s Hotel, Claridge’s underwent a name change when its founder, St. George Jackson Mivart, sold it in 1854 to Mr. and Mrs. Claridge. Today, the hotel is a part of the Maybourne Hotel Group, which includes two other five-star hotels in London, The Berkeley and The Connaught.

Like the Ritz, the Claridge’s architecture also follows an ancient design style, the French Arts décoratifs. This style of visual arts, architecture, and product design first appeared in Paris in the 1910s.

The hotel comprises sIx floors, four storeys of attics, and five basement levels. It currently houses 190 rooms, two restaurants, three bars, and a health club and spa.

Langham Hotel

The Langham is a 159-year-old hotel that was completed in 1865. At the time of its completion, it was the largest and most modern hotel in London.

The hotel building was initially designed in an Italian Gothic style with a domed tower, which has been modified over the years due to the different transfer of ownership. However, its recent owner, the Great Eagle Holdings, who acquired the hotel in 1995, carried out an £80 million refurbishment between 1998 and 2000. This renovation was done as an intensive maintenance of the hotel and to restore it to its original form.

Today, the Langham Hotel has 380 rooms, fifteen function rooms, a grand ballroom, a palm court, a business center, a restaurant, a cocktail bar, and a private dining room.

The Royal Horseguards Hotel

Although the Royal Horseguards Hotel building was erected in 1884, it was initially constructed as a block of luxury residential apartments. It wasn’t used as a hotel until 1971.

By 2008, the hotel underwent a thorough refurbishment worth a whopping £20 million when it was sold to Guoman Hotels, a subsidiary of Thistle Hotels, part of the Clermont Hotel Group. This UK-based company manages a portfolio of seven Central London hotels.

Located on the River Thames bank, the Royal Horseguards Hotel offers stunning views and exudes elegance and comfort in the heart of London. The hotel has nine floors, 282 rooms, and two restaurants.

These top luxury hotels provide not only luxurious accommodations but are also major historical monuments in the heart of London. They are the ideal choice for travelers seeking the pinnacle of comfort and sophistication in one of the world’s most vibrant cities.
