Former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel may cause the Blues to regret his dismissal as he considers signing two Chelsea stars, Mason Mount and Mateo Kovacic, for his new club, Bayern Munich.
Tuchel had a brief hiatus from football after leaving Stamford Bridge, but Bayern Munich appointed him in March to replace Julian Nagelsmann. While Tuchel’s tenure with the German champions has had a rocky start, the real test will come next season.
According to journalist Christian Falk on CaughtOffside, Tuchel’s summer transfer plans could include Mount and Kovacic from Chelsea.
Chelsea boasts the largest squad in English football, with at least 10 players potentially departing this summer for the team to regain its top form. However, one player the fans would hate to see go is Mason Mount, a homegrown talent and an outstanding footballer.
Tuchel, who has previously coached Mount and Kovacic, is reportedly interested in signing the two players for Bayern Munich. Falk stated, “Bayern are also looking for midfield players and I recently wrote about the interest in Mateo Kovacic. The availability of Mason Mount is certainly of interest to Tuchel also, as he knows both players well from his time in London.”
Mount, 24, possesses the qualities to become a football superstar under the right guidance, and Tuchel could be the perfect mentor for him.
However, Bayern Munich is not the only club pursuing Mount; Arsenal and Liverpool have also shown interest in signing him during the upcoming summer transfer window.
It remains to be seen what will happen with Mount’s future, but it would be a significant loss for Chelsea if he decides to leave.
Tuchel’s potential move for Mount and Kovacic could further highlight the consequences of his dismissal from the London club.
