Alejandro Garnacho poised to leave Manchester United

Manchester United must pass a test if they want to keep Garnacho, one of the most promising players, on their roster

When Alejandro Garnacho’s current deal with the team expires, Manchester United may lose him since several of Europe’s best teams are circling the winger in an effort to sign him.

The 18-year-contract old’s at Old Trafford expires in 2024, which is 18 months away, but the Independent reports that Real Madrid and Juventus are among the suitors looking to tempt him away from Manchester United after he emerged this season as one of the most exciting teenagers in football.

United will do everything in their power to ensure that he stays even longer, but they do have the option to extend for another year.

Nine months after switching from Atletico Madrid to United’s academy, in July 2021, Garnacho signed his first professional deal with the club.

His present contract, however, does not accurately reflect his position in Erik ten Hag’s squad, since Manchester United is looking to sign him to a deal that will pay him significantly more than his weekly income of £7,000.

According to reports, Garnacho’s agents have informed United that a £20,000 weekly offer is insufficient to retain him at the team through the end of his current deal and that he will instead choose a powerhouse European club.

Manchester United is keen to play down the idea of him leaving after previously losing highly potential young players on free transfers, most notably Paul Pogba to Juventus in 2012.

The team maintains that Garnacho’s contract negotiations have gone well because he is getting more opportunities to show off his skills for the first squad.

The Argentine winger has excelled this season, scoring a last-second winner against Fulham in November and assisting Marcus Rashford in the latest Manchester derby.
