Leading AI platform ChatGPT is currently down, with millions of users across the world unable to log into the service and input prompts.
ChatGPT users began facing issues on 26 December, and OpenAI have confirmed that the service is currently facing issues.
In a statement, they said this is due to issues with an “upstream provider”, without elaborating further about ChatGPT being down.
“We are currently experiencing an issue with high error rates on ChatGPT, the API, and Sora. We are currently investigating and will post an update as soon as we are able,” OpenAI said on 26 December.
ChatGPT previously experienced issues on 20 December, but the outage was not as large scale as the ongoing issues the AI platform is facing, particularly affecting users in the UK and the US.
It remains unclear when ChatGPT will be stop being down and resume normal operations.
It should be noted that the free version, in addition to all paid plans of ChatGPT, are all currently facing outage issues.
