‘Not for sale’: Manchester United handed blow in pursuit of $135mn striker

Victor Osimhen is not for sale, according to Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis, despite rumours that Man United is planning a £107 million offer.

Victor Osimhen is not required to be sold, according to Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis, amid rumours that Manchester United may make a summer offer for the forward.

Osimhen has been instrumental in helping Napoli, who are presently 13 points ahead of Inter Milan in second place, win their first league championship since 1990.

With 16 goals in 17 league games this season, the Nigerian forward is in first place on the Serie A scoring statistics.

De Laurentiis has stated to the German publication Bild that he has no plans to transfer the Napoli talisman.

De Laurentiis declared, “I can assure you that Osimhen is not for sale.”

‘Our players are in demand, but I don’t have to sell anyone.

‘We don’t have any debts’.

For £62.4 million, Osimhen moved to Napoli from Lille in 2020. He has 45 goals in 83 games.

His current contract expires in 2025, and it is believed that no negotiations have yet taken place to extend it.

After being forced to rely on an injury-prone Anthony Martial and loanee Wout Weghorst to spearhead the attack, United is eager to buy a superstar striker in the summer.
