Snapchat has unveiled a new advertising format designed specifically for pharmaceutical marketers, making it easier to include required product disclosures within in-feed ads.
The updated format allows pharma advertisers to attach product disclosure links directly to their ads, giving users a clear path to access important health and safety information.
The new format supports multi-CTA attachments, enabling brands to present health and safety notes alongside their primary advertising message without cluttering the core creative.
Smaller text links will appear below the main ad unit, allowing users to tap through to disclaimers and supplementary product information quickly and easily.
“Brands can configure up to three disclaimer CTAs alongside a primary CTA, helping unlock more compliant campaign setups across Snap Ads, Story Ads, Commercials, and, later this year, Sponsored Snaps,” Snapchat said.
The ability to include multiple disclaimer links within a single ad unit addresses a longstanding challenge for pharma marketers, who must meet strict regulatory standards around disclosure.
Snapchat noted that the updated format is designed to ensure pharma brands can remain compliant with required disclosure rules while still engaging effectively with their target audiences.
The platform pointed to strong user interest in health-related content as a key reason pharma advertisers should consider the channel, citing that 95% of its users have expressed an interest in health and wellness content.
That level of engagement positions Snapchat as a potentially significant platform for pharmaceutical companies looking to reach younger, health-conscious consumers at scale.
By offering a more structured and regulation-friendly ad environment, Snapchat is making a direct bid to attract greater pharma advertising spend from brands that have historically been cautious about the platform.
The rollout of the Sponsored Snaps integration later this year will further expand the range of compliant placements available to pharma marketers, broadening the format’s appeal across different campaign types.
With regulatory scrutiny around pharmaceutical advertising remaining high, tools that simplify compliance while maintaining creative flexibility are likely to prove attractive to brands and their media agencies.
